The 2019 Honda CR-V’s sizeable cargo hold and spacious cabin could seal the deal with savvy shoppers. However, buyers can also expect excellent fuel economy, a powerful engine and the latest technologies. The LX is offered in front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The EX, EX-L and Touring are all-wheel drive.
With ample ground clearance, the 2019 Honda CR-V AWD puts 208 mm between the chassis and the road. That’s beneficial when there’s snow on the ground. Engineers included an active shutter grille to help the SUV do more with less fuel. For our winter weather, the CR-V comes equipped with heated mirrors and a wiper de-icer. EX-L models add a power liftgate while Touring editions come with roof rails, rain-sensing wipers, and a panoramic moonroof.
Drivability and the 2019 Honda CR-V
A four-cylinder engine produces 190 horsepower and averages 7.8 L/100 km (city / highway) combined. All-wheel drive makes sure the CR-V doesn’t stray from the driver’s intended path. To help drivers watch the sides of the vehicle, you can choose the HondaWatch camera or a Blind Spot monitor. Lane keeping and road departure systems offer assistance as well as warnings.
Low-speed follow allows drivers to utilise Adaptive Cruise Control in slow-speed situations. Automatic braking comes to the rescue if a forward collision warning goes unheeded.
2019 Honda CR-V’s generous standard package
Even the basic CR-V is very well-equipped. Better padding makes the seats pleasant for long drives. Furthermore, heated front seats and a dual-zone automatic climate control system are standard. You also get push button start, a remote starter, two USB ports, and a proximity key. On the dash, a 7-inch display provides HondaLink Next Generation features. This includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and a rearview camera.
If you want more, the EX has a 12-way power chair and two additional USB ports. EX-L models add leather upholstery, heated rear seats, and a heated steering wheel. Touring editions have ambient lighting, HD radio, and navigation.
The CR-V has a small footprint, but its interior is quite spacious. Passenger volume measures 2,999 litres. Rear legroom measures 1,025 mm. The second row is easy to access because the doors open wide a full 90 degrees. The 1,110-litre cargo hold has an adjustable floor height, and the second row split-folds for more space.
